The Gloucester Methodist Circuit
I am posting to ask if, as you focus on Bethlehem during your Christmas Festivities, Carol Concerts/Services, please could you kindly consider supporting the internationally acclaimed Peace & Democracy work of the interfaith (Muslim, Christian & Jew), multi gender Hope Flowers School.
A school with 250 pupils, costs around £250 per year to educate each pupil.
Compared to our budgets which often run into £Millions, the school and its students have very limited resources. Pothole ridden roads, and sniper towers surround the school.
Unemployment in the West Bank is put at 60% and in Bethlehem, 75% of the population live on less than $2. a day.
Having visited the school twice, I attach my last report, plus a recent BBC News item. Currently the Separation Barrier is being built and the School Cafeteria is in danger of being demolished by the Israelis as it is within 120 metres of the Wall. You can find out more about the school on www.hopeflowersschool.org
Earlier this year, whilst on a visit to Gloucestershire, Hope Flowers Co-Director Ibrahim Issa thanked Longlevens students for raising £560 from collections at their Carol Concerts.
Your help this Christmas will continue to support their vital work as part of an ongoing quest for a real and lasting Peace in the Holy Land.
Thank you.
