FINANCE

There should be at least one other person, as well as the Treasurer, who is familiar with the church accounts, gift aid and regular giving and is able to administer them appropriately — this may include banking authorisation.

If a large proportion of your income comes from cash collections at services, or church lettings consider how you might manage cash flow during a period when fewer people attend worship or church gatherings cease. Loss of income due to Coronavirus is not covered by the Methodist Insurance policy.

Assessments are paid by your bank Standing Order, so it's up to you to stop\change that so that you do not incur Bank Charges if you have insufficient funds. At the Circuit Office, we cannot amend or stop your Standing Order. Payment of the Assessment must remain the first call on church funds. If you do not have funds to pay the Assessments, please contact the Circuit Office to discuss this so that ways of supporting you can be put in place.

Anyone handling cash should protect themselves from virus transmission by washing hands or using hand gel beforehand and afterwards, or by wearing appropriate gloves.
