UPDATE: Portsmouth, Winchester and Salisbury

Today Revd John Kime visited Portsmouth, Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals. John's route included other notable sites such as Fratton Park, the home of Portsmouth Football Club, and a trip across the Solent on the Gosport Ferry.

Whilst in nearby Southampton John delivered his final climate change action letter on mainland England to the Revd Andrew de Ville, Chair of the Southampton Methodist District. Finishing the day in Salisbury, John covered 64 miles, bringing his overall bike miles to a staggering 1577.

Tomorrow John will leave Salisbury, Wiltshire, and travel the last leg to Oxford Cathedral. It's thought John is the first person to complete the Cathedrals challenge entirely on his own, with no support car and only 5 "rest days"!

Revd John Kime is taking part in the Cathedrals Cycle Route Challenge, cycling 2000 miles around across England bearing a letter from the Methodist Church's Bristol District Chair, the Revd Dr Jonathan Pye, highlighting the urgent issue of climate change and climate justice.

The letter calls to support actions which will care for creation in a proactive way, lobby the Government which is hosting the COP 26 talks in Glasgow for lasting commitments to care for our planet, and for individuals to take steps 'to tread more lightly upon this earth'.
