UPDATE: Four Counties, Three Cathedrals and Two Methodist District Areas

Revd John Kime battled through 72 miles of rain, cold and head wind in todays adventure. Starting at Newark on Trent, the first port of call was Southwell Minster then across to Nottingham and following the River Trent it was a well earned cuppa at Beeston Marina before setting off for Cathedral number 25 in Derby. With over 1000 miles on the road, John is well past the half way stage of the Cathedrals Cycle route. Receiving a warm welcome at Derby it was back on the bike and off to Leicester Cathedral where at Evensong he was greeted by The Dean and supporting clergy.

Revd John Kime is taking part in the Cathedrals Cycle Route Challenge, cycling 2000 miles around England bearing a letter from the Methodist Church's Bristol District Chair, the Revd Dr Jonathan Pye, highlighting the urgent issue of climate change and climate justice.

The letter calls to support actions which will care for creation in a proactive way, lobby the Government which is hosting the COP 26 talks in Glasgow for lasting commitments to care for our planet, and for individuals to take steps 'to tread more lightly upon this earth'.
