Youth & Families Worker at Bethesda Methodist Church

Bethesda Methodist Church are looking for someone to help grow the new vision of ministry and mission with young people and their families, both with those already involved in the life of the church and those not yet engaged. We need someone to build relationships with & offer pastoral care to parents & their families.

ARE YOU:

  • Able to work alongside groups such as uniformed organisations & youth groups as well as other children’s ministry?
  • Looking for a role that helps develop opportunities that offer a sense of belonging and an introduction to the Christian faith?
  • Able to participate in the leading of all-age, inclusive worship on a monthly basis?

DO YOU:

  • Have the skills to establish new groups, such as Holiday Clubs and Activity Days?
  • Know how to encourage participation in activities, inspiring the church to respond to new challenges and opportunities?
  • Have the skills to model a culture where young people and families are integrated throughout the church and community?
  • Know how to use social media to promote our outreach work, publicise events and increase awareness of the work we do?
  • Want to explore building close links with local schools and the University of Gloucestershire?

Bethesda Methodist Church are located about ½ a mile from Cheltenham town centre, have a mixed-age membership and aspire to be an inclusive congregation. We've long been a community that engages with the world around us through worship, arts, service, partnership and 'open table' hospitality.

Hours
This role is part time, up to 20 hours per week. Talk to us about how this could fit into your life – we’re happy to support flexible working.

Salary
£14.83 per hour plus employer pension contributions and 5 weeks annual leave plus bank and public holidays

There is an occupational requirement for the role holder to be a committed Christian
Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS Check
